So my dwarf gourami is not eating as well as I expected him to eat by now.

What can I use to entice him to eat a bit more???

So far I have offered him flakes, he takes three nibbles at one piece and then just lets the piece drift away.
I tried pellets, he also just pecked at it once or twice and leaves them.
I have seen him eating the dead insects that float at the surface, I think that is what keeps him going.

    Can I try brine shrimp?
    Help will be appreciated!

Try bloodworm or something flavoursome. Most fish will eat bloodworm when everything else fails.

I agree with Firefly, my fish always love a bloodworm treat.

So it has been a few days since my last post.

I just wanted to share some good news. After spending the last few days trying to get my gourami to feed more I succeeded!!!:)

I basically took one flake at a time and place it on my finger and he then ate it from there.
I did this everyday at least 5 times and with two flakes at a time.
Now I just place 3 flakes on the surface and wait for his to gobble it up before I add another 3, I do this 4 times a day.

And he eats anything floating on the water like mosquitoes, moths etc.

So today was maintenance day. Did the usual 5liter water change. I will post pics a bit later, the water still has some particles floating around.
And the java fern on the rock is attached and growing nicely. I am getting some decent growth with the Seachem tablets and water coloum dosing

One question I have is how do I trim the plants? There was a few dead leaves that I just cut away with scissors, is that okay?

It has been a while without an update so lets get going... I lost my gourami while we were on holiday .
And I am battling with these stupid snails! But I think I am winning the battle one snail at a time. Will get some pics up later tonight.

Looks great man. Nice and easy low tec setup. I like that wood. Get some Anubia's to put in those holes. Will look awesome! Sorry for the loss with the Gourami man.

    Update:

I increased my lighting. I now have 2 x 20 watt energy savers over the tank.
I did a rescape of the tank as well today and gave it a good clean.
    Fish wise I don't have any... I guess it is because I don't know what I want:dontknow:
