I can't believe i posted almost 9 months ago. I have good reason :). I was going to do the build quick just before my the new baby arrived, so i will have something to do in between nappy changes, lmao. Murphy's law she arrived a month early and that was that. Fast forward to November 2024 and i start again. Build is a go. I am just finishing up my client work for the year and going to have fun with this build. It gave me time to do some changes.

So the build is as follows:
    2.5 x 45 x 45
    10mm glass

Please see the pics below. The top braces will have 6mm glass (purple color) over the "bottom" 10mm (yellow). Im trying to stick to just 3 braces across, for a cleaner look. I am not sure if i'm sacrificing strength though. What you guys think? This tank is going to be open on top, no lid, with emergent plants and houseplants on top. Hope the pics shed light and im open to changes. One other thing I am paying a tank builder for labour and not doing it myself anymore. Our ideas are mostly the same, i want the bracing different. I like to hear your thoughts.

Click on upload a file (bottom right) and then scroll through your library. Click on your image. And it should upload.

No problem. You might have an issue with photos being to large. It's been affecting a few people so WhatsApp them to yourself first to compress them.

So waiting as made me change my mind again. So I finally settled on

    1x - 2m x 450 x 450
    1x - 45 cube

    Stand
    2x - 700 x 500 x 500 with a centre baffle, giving me 4 "tanks" essentially.

So I was initially going to build 1 x 8 foot. I just wanted to give myself more projects. The tanks on the stand are going to be my experiments. The other two are going to be plumbed together and plants and driftwood going from one tank to another, if I can find those pieces.

Can't wait to begin. I still need to move the stand to it's final space. I'll probably start the cube to get in the groove of things. I know I'm slow but will keep this updated from time to time.

Wish me luck, got Lot to do and a couple more quarantine tanks to go on the top of the shelf, needs to be delivered. I'm so excited.

I'm busy (struggling) to make my own stand frame and I'm gazing upon that neat shelf with admiration and envy.

Thanks, I didn't build it myself :). I just did the drawing and gave it to a welder. I just did the wooden shelves myself.
