    @dash,

    I have 14.
    Started with 12 last October, but lost 2 due to flagellate issues that didn't respond to treatment.
    And then added another 4 in January.

    @GavinD, @1300wipass,

    The Stendker colour range is limited.
    There are more exciting things coming out of Asia.
    But the Stendkers have a reputation for being tough. So was happy to go with those. I do wish they would extend their colour range though

    Man the discus keepers on this forum sure make it hard to try and resist discus. I wish I could get me some but I am not sure that I could maintain a steady maintenance routine with them due to work from 6/6 each day. Real pity maybe one day when I retire lol

    @hein24,
    in my experience, keeping Discus is not as difficult as some people make out.
    The tank bred fish of today are a long way away from the Amazon. Figuratively speaking.

    If you start with decent quality fish, and are sensible about your maintenance, you should be ok.

    i work and have 2 young kids that need my time, so I can't do the insane water changes some people suggest.
    but as you can see, my fish are thriving on the schedule that I am maintaining.

    @Reedfish

    Ive seen these fish develop from the juvies you got to the very nice sub-adults they now are.
    You have done a great job raising them.
    Its not always easy getting juvenile discus and then raising them to healthy adults.
    I actually have a small experiment planned to see what influences Discus growth. Hopefully it will help me in future ensuring better and constant growth.

    Either way-your fish are looking good Frank. Soon tbey gonna start causing you trouble when they become frisky....

    @Marco,
    thanks for the positive comments.

    As as you know, I haven't followed "standard" practice. Ie bare bottom tanks and insane water changes. Yet, these have done well for me!

    A pair has formed. Not keen to breed. But hopefully they will lose interest.

    @CAPE SHARK

    Feeding:

    Beef heart in the morning
    Freeze dried black worm during the day (my Mrs is a teacher and gets home from lunchtime or a bit later depending on her schedule)
    Beef heart in the evening
    If at any of the meals, if the fish still looking hungry, they get a pinch of Prima.
    And sometimes a pinch of Prima just before lights out

    Water changes
    15% on the weekend
    5% every 2nd day thereafter
    Main aim being to vacuum as much poop as possible.
