    @Jwh.. I did see the ones that came in after, they are smaller. with good feeding twice a day they will put on size quick.
    I keep the water at a PH of 7.

    I don't adjust the water at all, im on borehole water and every time I have tested I have come up with a reading of 7..

    @Jwh, as Cesar says, we don’t adjust the ph on any of our tanks and they all sitting at around 7 every time we test
    Our tap (borehole water) remains constant at around 7
    I wouldnt worry too much as long as it stays stable at 8
    From all the reading we have done, every website and breeder forum says don’t tamper with the ph
    Tampering sometimes causes swings and that’s worse
    They all say Rays are happy in ph ranging from 6 to 8 as long as slowly acclimatized and the ph stays stable.
    Stability is more important than a set ph.
    As they say, rays have survived evolution and changes of water over the years
    They are also mostly captive bred at stable ph levels
    They all say The most important is the nitrites, nitrates and ammonia.. that they are very sensitive to
    So ja.. filtration and water changes..
    As long as water is clean, and the ph stays stable, they ok

    For some reason, over the last couple of month, our tap water has gone from a stable 7-7.5 to around 9, maybe drought related?
    I don't want to tamper with the pH, for all the reason you mention, plus that the water seems highly buffered, so probably at high risk of a pH crash if making it more acidic.
    If it keeps increasing at the rate it does may have to have a plan B and premix water in tanks.

    @Jwh,

    Very nice that you have some Rays.
    How about starting a thread of your own with some photos :)

    Re ph
    The ph (8) and kh (15) out of my tap are both relatively high.
    When I got Disucs I started using the Seachem ph/kh down powder. I found it did move the kh, but not the ph.
    I use the exact same amount at every water change.

    Have continued with the seachem product after I gave up the Discus and went with my current SA setup (Lungfish, rays, cichlids, silver dollars)
    I haven't tested either in my water in years. But all my fish seem to be happy, so not too worried.

    I think the trick is to be consistent. It's probably better to have a stable ph that may be a bit on the high side than one that's costantly fluctuating.

    I tried some of the Seachem Neutraliser a few years ago, found it did nothing to my pH, which was very low at the time, instead added some coral to my filter which sorted it out.
    As I still had some, it tried it in a bucket at 4x the labeled dose last week, also did nothing in reducing the pH, so not too sure how well these products work, I'm also very weary of a pH crash, which often proves fatal. The sump has plenty of space so added few pieces of driftwood which generally help as well.

    We should have a stingray forum

    @Cesar
    Thanks for the info.
    In my limited Ray experience, I would agree that they are adaptable.

    In fact, from what I have read, it can be much more difficult to get newly imported specimens to eat.

    Good evening guys and Girls

    as much as I would like to say yes, we have not hit the due date. gestation period if female has no stress is 120days and we are on 112days so we still have a few days to go...
    as you can see from the pic she has gotten rather large, been keeping with the 70% water changes once a week and feeding twice a day... all seems to be going real well.

    @Cesar,

    Yes, she seems to be very large!
