@Barry Roux sorry, I meant fish, snails and plants. You asked earlier what my water smells like. It smells normal, no pungent stink or anything. I checked it for a smell last night when I did a water change and it smelt normal.

    Very strange.

Try your best to get a photo for the other folks to look at for potential parasites. @Barry Roux would there be any visible signs to look for? Stringy pooh, flashing?

Plus the water changes with Prime.

Ok so no smell no water issues. Remember disease can stay dormant for an while if the fish immune system is strong enough. But say you have an sudden temp drop or any change for that matter. The parasites kick in and enjoy.
The water changes will not help the case in my opinion. I would rather do an 5%than 10% as the tank would stay more stable. Keep up with what you doing and feed well. By saying feed well not over feed but feed good nutrition. For a week or so add some garlic to the food or soak the food in garlic. I wont cure the problem but your aim now should be to keep immune systems strong and happy. The normal garlic you have in the fridge is fine just add some of the juice to the food. If the garlic has ginger in even better.

Also if its something like worms garlic will be even better than any meds. If you really worried add some rooibos tea to the tank. Salt helps aswell these are my first defences if i have an issue. Meds last resort. Best thing is think logical and dont rush for meds not always the best solution. Keep it stable.

Thanks Barry! I appreciate your help. I generally don't like using meds unless absolutely necessary.

Below are the food I feed, as well as blanched marrow.

I have tried to stay with good brands with most of the foods.

Still the same. I wonder if I must try and get some copper treatment and give it a bath?

Definitely not copper. Jabe you started the garlic? I would give it some more time. But if tou really wanna go meds i would recommend Prazipro but do a bit of reading on it before you buy. It has saved my fish a few times over.

Ginger and garlic juice for the food. The fish loved it!

I've been dosing with Prime for the past 3 days, daily. Just to try and help the fish, plants and filtration.

So I am trying the salt dosing method. I have dosed 600grams of salt for my 200 litre tank, which I did slowly (so as not to destroy the ecosystem completely).

The tank is in it's 3rd day of salt and all is looking well. 2 of the other fish, which had started to breathe heavily before dosing, have since gone back to normal. I think the blue platie is too far gone, but the other fish seem to like the benefits of the salt which I added.

I read that dishwasher salt is pure NaCl (sodium chloride) and this is what I used to dose. I am going to keep it going like this for 7 days in total and then start with 10% to 15% water changes to slowly but surely bring the salinity level to zero.

    I'll keep you all posted.

Thats great news, do you have an more recent pic of the blue platy? Salt you can leave at those levels no need to remove. If it stays in the tank it will only help and be your incase solution.
