Hi Guys. I am looking for those strips of led's. nothing fancy. I have a few plants in the tank, but not particularly partial to them.

    Thanks

I know the China Mall in Centurion has them.
Boksburg flea market should also have them.

On the corner of Atlas and North Rand Road in Boksburg. China Centre. Lots of lighting places. Bought a meter and the fitting that goes on the end last week for I think R 80.

I have bought these Chinese strips before, they lights work fine just be very aware that they are not designed for such high moisture environments and their insulation isn't great. I had two burn out (short) due to moisture ingress. Just add some extra insulation where the power cable connects to the fitting.

Just my 2c, but I would rather spend a bit more and get LED's specifically designed for tanks, and an aquatic environment.

As long as they are 6500k, they should do fine. How long they will last is another thing.

    GregM,

    This is it.
My LED's were prob a bit more expensive than some cheaper brands, but I am expecting them to last longer.

I run the below LED Modules on my tanks, they are IP68 Waterproof and have not had a days problems with them. I run 10 sets of 3 on my 3ft and they just bring out the colour and plants seem to thrive, these are 6500k and I have another set of 9500k on my 4ft. One gets the strips with about 60 LED's per meter, but these don't last with condensation although they say they are waterproof. I know there are plastic sleeves available but I rather go with what I know.
