Frontosas have always been relatively expensive here.
Not sure why?? A friend of mine has a colony and he can't stop them breeding.

    Almost the weekend
But the forecast isn't great :(

I'm glad they're relatively expensive, I wish they'd double or triple the price of oscars also - and of all fish that grow large, as a safety measure for the fish

    R 490 for little ones

Size is one factor but they are also known to live for 20+ years

Last Time I was there I bought mine for a bit cheaper cause I got them in bulk. Think the asking price was R495 at that stage. I told them I want them for cheaper as Petmaster had some for R295 and I took 8 for around R280/R300 per fish If I remembered correctly. First had a long talk with a guy trying to convince me of how expensive it was to import these and told him something about that, that I will rather not repeat and when the owner saw it was me I got the price I've asked for. Also bought my cuckoo cats there as well.

Down the line I lost to fronts had bought 2 again, but for them, I paid around R350 each at that time.

Seen Mudskippers for sale only once, and that was quite a few years ago.

Was so tempted. But would have had to set up a tank/habitat for them. Which wasn't an option at the time :(

Messing around in the 1.5ft tank. Brought home a small Bristlenose I saw at the lfs. Think he will enjoy the piece of wood.

Brought in a piece of driftwood from the outside container I keep in some guppies.IMG_20210320_153012.jpg IMG_20210320_153026.jpg IMG_20210320_162804.jpg

Delighted to have pearl gouramis in the mix again! They’re youngsters and still in quarantine but doing well, and I can’t stop staring at them :)

Struggling to sex them though, thinking most are males probably? @Nina_W ?

Then I also have 5 sparkling gouramis in quarantine in the plastic tub. Water parameters are fine but one of them is constantly being picked upon by the others and tail fin is damaged...

The initial idea was that they’d go in the 1,5m eventually (pearl gouramis too) but now thinking I should perhaps put them in the 44L rather, with the CPDs? Any thoughts? I’d have to raise temp a bit for them if I do so.

I think the 44L is a better idea.
The Pearls will probably give them a hard time

Thanks yes that’s what dawned on me too, especially seeing that they’ll occupy the same level in the tank etc
