Yeah I was surprised the squirrels didn't eat them all. I just had a feeling I had to go check on them and saw a few were eaten already so I started picking. Then the rain came as I was on my way back and I got drenched. My aunt couldn't believe how wet I was. Lol

Now to wait for up to 6 weeks for them to dry properly before we can roast and eat them

ROFLMAO, ever since I got to the UK, we've had pouring rain there and then with the occasional spot of lightning and thunder. I seem to bring the rain with me everywhere I go.

It's me and my fiance's 5 year anniversary today. We were wanting to go out and look at pretty discus tanks (he wants to keep discus eventually). Would anyone in the Cape Town/Southern Suburbs area let us stop by to look at their tanks?

Spilt watery streaks of superglue down the front of my 2ft tank while gluing a clump of moss onto some wood

Only noticed it once I was drying things up and had to spend 20 minutes buffing it out with glass polish (no acetone on hand). At least it was on the outside!

This lady has been in the hobby for 50 years, she currently has 40 tanks and breeds so successfully a.o.t. stunning rainbows. Huge respect!

Also think she is quite funny, had lots of chuckles.

Well this actually happened on Friday. I was at a certain pet store in Kyalami and they had a small tank, very small tank like all these new stores put in these days, about 7cm high and their were about 5 small green spotted puffers in it and......wait for it.....and a small tiny pleco, not sure if std or bristle. Shop assistant did not seem to know either, but swiftly caught it and took it out once I made them aware of it.

A couple of things wrong here, firstly These fish are meant to be kept in brackish water for long term survival, I doubt this was brackish water since the pleco would then not have survived. Secondly they were for sale for R50 which is cheap and they are more likely going to end up with fish keepers that will not know how to feed them or care for them since I dont beleive the workers in the store new anything more about them other than to feed them frozen blood worm......

Anyhow thats my rant for the day......

Don't they also need their own tanks and more space than that?

Yup They certainly do. So either they are going to get stuck in that tank for a very long time and become severely malnourished or they are going to be sold to an unsuspecting fish keeper (notice I said fish keeper and not hobbyist) and end up having a very short lived life.

So this morning I went out to do some stuff to the pool, and feed the koi.
    IMG_20190926_095453.jpg
Lo and behold, a new "koi" appeared, my yellow cobra guppy, who somehow got into the pool
    IMG_20190926_095322.jpg
In true guppy style he was showing off for the koi and trying to mate.
It took ages but I managed to catch him and put him back where he belongs, he seems a little disappointed though.

Somehow this bloke managed to slip in through the eagle-eyes of my Mrs.

We can't decide whether it is a Clivia Nobilis or Clivia Gardenii

My dad bought me a few of these beauts for my birthday. Can't wait to get them planted this weekend. They are flowering as well so I should have them flower next season after the transplant. Apparently a transplant can see them take 5 years to flower again...
