My friend came back from camping this afternoon. She found all the chocolates I had hidden. She also got covered in gold glitter twice (once from the trap on the shower door and once from the trap that I taped onto a chocolate that I had taped above a doorway). My other two traps were duds as she discovered them before setting them off. Still was fun though and she enjoyed it, or so she tells me.

To escape the now 2 building teams the son & I went to kirstenbosch. Always a delight. Beautiful weather today.

Tomorrow the pawpaw is going to hit the fan big time as we won’t have a kitchen for 3 days and they’re working on practically every room. Wish I had a bit of advanced notice on this one but ok. Coffee machine, microwave and takeaways for the rest of the week.

Kirstenbosch is one of my favorite places to visit. Whenever I am in CT I make sure to schedule it in

Yes it’s so vast one could easily spend a day just in one section of it. Next time you’re in CT look me up

So I decide to finally clean my filter, tubing and lily pipes today. The tubing didn't want to slide off the lily pipe, so I removed the whole thing with the idea to let it lay in the tub with some hot water so it can soften and then slide off easy. I tried to put it down on the counter, but then it fell and completely shattered...glass pieces everywhere . I started calling around to all the pet shops I know and luckily, only Sam's had stock. So I rushed there, got the item, then had to slightly remove a piece from the top part of the tank so that the inlet could fit. Then struggled for about 20mins to get the filter primed & running. But here we are now, tank's running, I'm about to do my first trim since the rescape... decided that I deserve a glass of wine before I tackle this job and moan on here with you guys, who I'm sure have had similar frustrating experiences in this hobby.

Anyway, let me get to it

    Good.
I’m having more than a glass to take the edge off the thought of the avalanche that will hit me tomorrow :D

Hopefully it won’t end up in a hangover which will make it 10 times worse

I'm finally done with the trimming....forgot how time consuming it is, but also relaxing.

Think it's time for bed for me, lol.

Seems a lot was happening in the Cape this weekend - we drove down on Friday for a wedding in Noordhoek on Saturday, and drove back again yesterday. Weather was glorious, though the wind was quite chilly.

@A new day Kirstenbosch looks stunning! I wish we had a bit more time to visit, but Sunday was spent recovering from the wedding.

Sho that’s a long drive for a weekend! Glad you enjoyed :)
Next time I’ll show you around kirstenbosch, would’ve been a good spot to recover from the wedding.
Silvermine dam on a hot day is another well kept secret to remember for next time

    As is it mine.
Whenever we are in Cape Town, family goes off to the beach, and I spend at least 2 days there

I've always wanted to go to Kirstenbosch. I'm flying down to Cape Town for my friend's wedding next Monday, will be there for the week (her wedding is only on the Saturday) and I'm hoping we'll get to visit Kirstenbosch but she lives in Moreesberg so not sure if we'll get a chance. Fingers crossed!
