I had another Covid scare. My manager tested postive, I am a close contact. Got tested today, came back negative. I am very relieved.

Yup, there is a lot of it around at the moment.
My daughter is the only 1 of the 4 of us who has had it. And she got it just before school broke up in July.

One of the craziest news released today. Our weekends which used to be Friday and Saturday has been changed to Saturday and Sunday matching the rest of the world. This starts on the first of Jan. The good thing is that Fridays have now become a half day so it's a 4.5 day working week.

Not exactly fish related, but people here seem to have a weirdly good understanding of water with electricity - my washing machine has just started shocking me!
No idea what's going on but all of a sudden if I touch the inside silver drum (the bit that you put your clothes in and it then spins around) it gives me a very definite tingling shocking sensation (even after the machine is off after finishing a wash cycle). It's very weird and somewhat disconcerting. Not entirely sure what to do about it.

Think you definitely need to have it seen to
Next time it may not be just a tingling sensation!

Okay from all the things I've been shocked by, the washing machine has to be in the top 3 (trust me I've been shocked by way too many things I'm too embarrassed to admit).

To help you find the issue, firstly inspect the power cable for any breaks or tears on the line, if nothing, inspect the plug that connects to the wall, if still not coming right then inspect behind the machine where the power connects to the machine. Not sure how old your machine is but it also could have a cable that earth's the machine (most likely your issue but the hardest to get to. The fact that you have power and it's shocking you when touching it means that there's a break in the earth, so please whatever you do don't be barefoot and touch the machine. You can also try using rubber gloves when operating the machine however you should get it fixed before it gets worse, or worse, shock the kid. Please PM me any pictures if you like any further help on this

The more I thought about the washing machine issue the more I realised the weird feelings I'd had on my arm from other appliances plugged in to the same plug point were probably very low electrical currents. So we got an electrician to come out and check the plug point and it turns out it was never earthed! So for three years I've been using a washing machine at least 4 times a week plugged into a totally unearthed plug point
Anyway, all sorted now and safe again, so that's a relief.
