I love the positivity on the forum. A lot of members have been going through some form of negative event but there's always positively and motivation present

So our municipality is telling us to boil our water before drinking it, if you don't want to boil it add some bleach (1 tsp to 20 L). Apparently E.coli has been found in it. So no WC until everything has been sorted out. We need huge amounts of rain, all our dams are below 20 % at the moment.

On the plus side, I got 8 amanos yesterday and my tank with the parva is starting to show trace amounts of new growth.

Honestly I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's e coli in wc water as well. There's been an absolutely terrible tummy bug doing the rounds - major vomiting, diarrhea, cramps, some people with fevers - and in many cases it appears out of nowhere. Also seems to recur randomly. Water has been smelling gross and tasting weird for a while.

Totally. We all had that bug to various degrees. Last Tuesday evening I had 39,3C fever with shivers.

If anyone needs a 25ltr or two or three just supply me with bottles. We use massive filtration at work.
While Iv grown up drinking from dassie pools, almost every river and every tap even in northern African countries and been for the large part fine 99,99% of the time besides a slight squirm at some awful tastes it’s rather disheartening to hear about the degradation of our water quality nationally. A friend and colleague this last week went to hospital for drinking the water in newlands Forest a place where during every run and hike Iv always done the same.

I have read on various nature related websites that the state of SA rivers at the moment is shocking.

If I had a R1 for every time I heard someone say water changes are not needed or a additional piece of terrible advice.

There is some major roadworks between my house, and work.
The lights controlling the flow of traffic were out of sync, so was total chaos
Took me double the usual time to get there

Roadworks still there, but thankfully the lights have been sorted.
