    Back home now.Temp 25 Cows

The mountains became tiny hills again.

The one behind the cows is a fortress btw.
Its part of several old fortresses around Amsterdam (each at shootingrange from one another). The idea was to flood the aerea and then defend Amsterdam with the canons in these fortresses. [IMG][IMG]

Very interesting defensive approach, fix the enemy in a pre determined killing zone, limit the escape routes and destroy their centre of gravity. You will probably find a few alternative defensive positions in the area.

Imagine the effect of finding yourself knee-deep in water during the night, the troops morale will definitely be low :eek:o_O

It jusy p's me off when people posts picture like these. You guys are spoiled with what you have around you, compared to what we that live in the city.

Gauteng can do wiith some rain, been more than 4 months since our last rain. Although were not a winter rain area we still get the odd shower comming down, but I guess it's due to the very mild winter we had.

Very interesting to see that @Reedfish calls it sweltering hot whe it hits 33°C. Although it's more than 10° higher than Englands average it's a normal summers day for us, but most of us will freeze to death in winter there.

Enjoy what you have and keep on posting your awesome picture.

Oooh I totally forgot about this. I managed to get some really good elderberries picked and I made medicinal syrup from it. @Pierré Schoonraad so many people have forgotten the ancient ways of using natural medicine as a supplement and I really am grateful for being in the UK as I now able to source what I need from Mother Nature and leave the rest for the wild animals to eat.

These are european black elderberries (sambucus nigra), it grows everywhere but only little is left because the birds eat some of it. Just a word of warning, it is slightly toxic when in raw state form which is why you have to cook it at a very high temp to burn off the toxin.

It always amazes me that only a few people see the big picture, of their surroundings, but also find the small details.
