    Thank you.

What do Zebra Plecos go for Btw? I want them as my main feature fish but have not yet priced them.

Last time I saw them, a few years back, they were R5000 a fish

Say what????? Might have to reconsider. Looks like there is someone in Kimberley willing to part with a pair for around R1800. Might be worth the drive...

Sounds like a good price for a pair. They were going for R1500 and R1300 early on this year. But they are rare.

Probably due to scarcity? Spoke to my LFS and they normally get them in between R1700 to R2000. Eish, was not expecting that.

When you buy a fish that costs you that much do you insure it?

I just googled, aparently its a CITIES listed species. Limited import, some sites say no export from Brazil. Supply and demand. Etc.

    Hi Guys.

Need some help. I soaked my drift wood for about 3 weeks until it sank, then boiled it and put it in about 2 days ago.

I noticed it has some white stuff growing on it? What is this? Will it go away.

BTW the wood used was Grape Vine. Googled it and according to that it is good to go?a4633856996af3086b81c710caf0a697.jpg

This happens from time to time on new wood in a tank.
It will eventually go away on its own.
Or, if it won't cause too much disturbance to the tank, take the wood out and brush the mould off under a running tap

I have also had this happen to some of my grape vine

It does go away but can be frustrating for a while.. stares at you all time..

As @Reedfish said if not too much of a mission take it out and give it a good rub with salt and then put it back

I have considered grapevine but never really added any to a tank ... mind post a full tank shot .... would love to see how it evolves.

    Later Ferdie

Ferdie, all the wood in my tank is grape vine so you can have a look there too
Its very hard and doesnt rot

For newbies to fishkeeping, just make sure it is grape vine and not spider wood because spider wood in my experience goes rotten in a few months and the smell!

    Stunning pieces @Keeganjvv ..

Your tank is not heavy planted yet so looks quite easy to take them out and quickly give them a scrub with a little salt and put them back

Sometimes takes a little while to go away completely but it eventually does
Its not harmful to the fish either in my experience so no need to worry.. its just a bit unsightly ....
