    Updates on the tank
Chungus now has some "tankmates". 15833439106182012644821.jpg
Also decided to move some of the plants around to give him new things to explore.

My male angelfish unfortunately died due to an injure so I moved the female to another tank and have restocked that the other side of the tank. Currently there's guppies, 2 long fin Bristlenose plecos, a nerite snail, 3 khuli loaches, assassin snails and my female pea puffer.

It looks as if he’s grown! Obviously difficult to gauge on photos.

Been feeding him well so he's getting more round at the belly. Looking more and more like a potato every day.

Most of his leftovers get eaten by my corydoras and plecos. Probably why they breed so often.

Tried to get Chungus to eat octopus to add more variety to his diet. He refused to eat for 8 days and I eventually let him eat his favorite food, a superworm. He went straight for it. So now I had a full baby octopus and only a few of my aquatic pets are able to eat it. Most of my fish can only eat half of it because it's so rubbery. But found out that large cichlids, arowanas, arrowhead puffers and the stingray at work love the stuff so atleast something can eat it.

Fantasea aquarium and pet in Greenside, Johannesburg. I work there part time so I get to take care of fish that wouldn't be able to keep myself. In particular the arowanas and the stingray.

Funny enough I cant get my rays to eat calamari either
They will nibble if really starving but dont really eat much
Im sure its the rubbery texture.. interesting that he didnt eat it either

The cichlids and arow just swallow the pieces!!

You can soak calamari in milk for 1 - 2 hours and then cook it in boiling water for about 2-4 minutes it would soften it up a lot.

Maybe it's because it's was a whole octopus so all I did to prepare it was cut it up in to small pieces. What Ed to try cuttle fish but judging by how my puffer dislikes the octopus I might just stick to mussels and superworms.

I’ve never tried octopus/squid with my fish.
Maybe I should give it a go as something different.

It's quiet tough but my fish eat it if I cut them into bit size pieces.

The fish that mostly swallow the pieces do eat it but the rays chew and i think the rubbery texture puts them off a bit
Must admit it was squid/ calamari and not octopus but we dont see octopus for sale very often

Try the fishery near me sells a large variety of seafood. The small baby octopus was R25 which was why i tried it. Going to try clam meat next. They ight like it as well because I cut the octopus in to small pieces and they soaked it in garlic guard before freezing it.

Joke's aside though it does really work and makes it a lot easier for picky fish too eat it.
