@Vis - wow your tanks look absolutely stunning. I have not ventured into the real plants but maybe one day. I am shortly going to upgrade my 900cm malawi tank to a 1.4cm and am very excited. Maybe I can tank pictures as it progresses and post it.

Here's the progression on my reophile tank...1st pic - day 2/3ish(just 2 months-ish ago)... 2nd,bout 2 weeks ago and 3rd like 2 days ago....still got a hell of a long way to go,but check the Rotalla's growth - just another affirmation that you dont need a "pimped" substrate to get "difficult" stems to grow...

    DSCF4990.jpgDSCF5114.JPGDSCF5234.JPG

Btw...check the growth of the little red Nymphea(Pixy lily bulb) just left of centre in pic 2 to to pic 3...this little dude is getting the full blast of 6000 liters an hour - who said lilly types will not grow in high flow...?
In past systems where I have used this plant, would have had to start trimming leaf runners that reach for the surface by now(to keep a more compact submerged leaf form going)...with that amount of flow, its a much more manageable plant.... I know that I will have to move/remove it later in the scape, but for now, having so much fun learning from its current planting position....

Looks great dude, would like to come and see it sometime when I get a chance. Water is in the 1.5m, running 2 filter @ about 1000l/h. Can't wait to get some plants.

Yup,sorry for the high jack guys, but aint this what its all about? Pimping our systems to a point where we meet the requirements of the fish AND of the plants.....getting both to be in ballance and provide us with a pleasing scape to look at in our lounges....?

Some of us has posted some amazing pics of scapes, what hits me though is how many has changed the initial scape after a few months.... lol - dont think that we envisage the final growth/size of those pathetic/puny plants we rescue from our local LFS's....lol
