Tire Track Eel

    I agree... eels are shy when you move them around.. arowanas do that too..and many of the other predator fish sometimes take a few days to start eating
    It took about six weeks for 3 of my datnoids to eat and the 4th one is still not eating..
    The garlic helps and i am a firm believer in using it but when they stubborn... not even the garlic helps

    Smaller spiny eels. Fairly easy to find here

    Do they need anything special? And will they eat glowlight tetras?

    They are hard to feed with fish like glowlights apparently. My glowlights smash whatever hits the water, you'd have to feed eels with a pipe

    There are smaller species of Spiny Eel.
    Eels though are predatory, so if the Glow Lights are small, they could end up as a meal.

    Spiney Eels have a reputation for being difficult to get to eat.
    So as long as you can target feed them, especially at the beginning, they should be ok.

    now.

    Tyre track was dead this morning :(

    Not sure why, couldn't see any obvious signs
    And it had started taking blood worm the past few nights

    Am especially disappointed as I thought it had turned a corner with the feeding.
    Anyhow, may try again with this species in the future, but not right now
