im a malawi fanatic..but sorry to say..a tank of this size has to be set up as a marine tank...and i agree with azurekoi...probably a mix of ugly hybrid malawis...not even close to the proper colours of pure strain fish

Can you imagine how much of a mission water changes would be though? I mean I use 10L tubs to do my tanks, so I feel that doing a 50% water change could get laborious?

Some super-sized Catfish would be great in there rather than malawis, especially such low quality ones... Or a shoal of full-sized Bala Sharks, eh?

Has anyone been able to add or find a YouTube video of the segment, I'd love to see it but I've even missed the re-run :(
From that construction page it looks like there was no thought put into it, just a massive budget and a man saying "Give me the biggest tank you can fit on top of my gym"
The plants certainly look fake to me, and the species selection page has no info. But they talk about sand filters, bio filtration, UV sterilizers and protein skimmers, no mention of heaters...

If any of you are following Robvdv's tank on the marine forum, he's built a 10 000lt tank and he's had massive time and money inputs to get it to where it is now, and he's an enthusiast with a tank 1/9th of the size. At least he's using natural sunlight and solar heating as far as possible. He's only recently installed a heat pump to help stabilize temperatures. I wonder how long this one is going to keep running before the house is sold on bank repo?
