    I don't think the bracing on the corners of the tank will make any difference.
    The reason you need thicker glass is because of the height of the water column.
    Bracing was used because they didn't have strong enough adhesives back in the day.

    dont do the metal bracing...

    rather do EURO bracing on the tank, especially if you use 12mm!

    NB: that size tank requires top and bottom bracing with preferably a floating base...
