ok so i got some wonderul mosses from Vis and some HM and HC from Shihr and was beside myself with excitment to get the tank grown and now a couple of months later and you wouldnt say its the same tank lol. i know the moss probably needs to be trimmed but i love the wild look its got and my Khuli's love slipping through the moss, over the rocks and around the anubias. this tank was being dosed weekly with Flourish excel and sera florena but since i moved back to PTA its getting very little TLC truth be told. i still love it though:p. i have to 15W globes in here one white light from Boyu and a purply one that supposedly is good for plant growth i'll probably swop it out soon though. i like the effect of the white light. i'm planning on getting a larger filter for this tank as its currently housing Ares the betta, 5 Khulis and 5 white clouds (would lie to up my numbers of these lil guys they so much fun to watch). the last pic is of the tank just after planting i really cant believe the growth

    tell me what you think?

    Wow windfire, that looks amazing.

I would like to take some inspiration from your setup - I am only good at killing plants, and so I'm going to spend some time (and $$$) getting my plant life (life, not death) in order. Although my tank is over 500L, so I may need to take your tips and blow it up a bit, but thanks for showing us!

Shihr and Vis, nice plants - I'll look out for any available plants from you in the future. :)

PS. Surprised you've got snails surviving in there? I thought khuli loaches feasted on them?

thanks guys this is the first tank i've had that has reached this stage and i owe alot to the folks on the forum that have given advice and donated plants. @Firefly the fine leafed plant in the background is HM and i replaced the bacopa on the right with HM as well as it was getting too tall and had to be trimmed once a week or so. the snails are the bane of my excistance madam lol the khulis get most of the lil ones and i had to stop feeding bottom feeder pellets in order to get them to eat the snails, lazy buggers lol, so they get 2-3 pellets a week and must hunt snails the rest of the time, which they do judging from all the empty shells on the substrate hehe.i do sometimes wonder if i should take the wooden ring out from the right hand corner and replace it with the stone mountian thing i made for one of my other tanks and put the wooden ring in that tank but i'm not sure if it'll be too overwhelming, and my betta in that tank will be devastated its his favourite place to hide hehe. this is the tank i would like to enter into an aquascaping competion.

ok so im gona give you guys a pic of the other mountain and start looking for opinions for the swop of the wood and another rock pile. the rocks will fit in with the rest of the tank as they also covered in moss with a few anubias on them and i just think the wooden ring is so unusual and its abit lost in this tank. this is Apaolems tank, also very low tech for now, the rock feature in this tank is the one i want to swop into Ares tank. what say you?:p
