    Hey guys,

It's with a heavy heart that I have to announce that I am selling my entire community setup. I bought my first home this month, and after looking at the plans and doing some calculations, I realised with a shock that I do not have space for my tank. Occupation is on 2011/06/01, so I need all this gone by then:

    TANK

    - 1x Standard 4ft (270l) tank with 6mm sides and 10mm bottom, braced on top with corner overflow.
    - 1x Standard 3ft sump with glass top panels and 5 compartments, including filter floss,
1kg siporax, bio balls, lava rock, and deep sand bed.
    - 1x Black steel reinforced frame built from 25mm square tubing, accomodating both tank and sump.
    - 1x Custom mahogany top with 2x built-in fluorescent lights and sliding glass in front.
    - 2x Hopar T5 Alumninium hoods for lighting in front (over the sliding glass).
    - 1x ViaAqua 1800l/h return waterpump, including all plumbing to spraybar.
    - 1x Boyu ACQ-001 Heavy Duty airmpump, including all plumbing to 4x airstones.
    - 1x Boyu 18W Ultraviolet Sterilizer
    - 1x Water level alarm on sump (pump compartment)
    - 1x Blue floating feeding ring (to prevent uneaten food entering the sump)
    - 1x Cured driftwood, roughly 800mm in length.
    - 2x Rough Silica Sandstone Rocks
    - Semi-smooth Diamond Mine Pebble substrate, 50mm thick accross entire tank bottom.

    LIVESTOCK

    - 1x Albino Ancistrus (Juvenile)
    - 3x Zebra Danio (Adult)
    - 3x Leopard Danio (Adult)

It's difficult putting a price on all this, I think mainly because I know the amount of effort and cash I put into it. I would like to start at R 2,500 and see where it goes from there.

Please let me know if this is unreasonable...

PS: There may be some additional stock which has not been mentioned. I'll add them as I remember...
PSS: Seeing as I currently have fish in the tank, I am unable to sell anything seperately.

    Thanks!

    Kind regards,

    Martin

First of all: congrats on the house!

Secondly... not a bad price! Pity my house can only accommodate my 4 foot!

Seeing as we are both named Martin, my fish would probably not even notice! LOL! It will be at least 5 years before I will have space for a tank like this again... This new place is REAL small... PLUS I've got a bunch of stuff to pay like attorneys etc...

Thanks, me too! Otherwise I'll have to drain and wash it, and stuff it in the garage... And that would be a big waste of awesomeness... I'm sure my sister will take my Danio, but the rest of my livestock will visit the petshop. I'll have to trade them for a few pidgeons and then set them free outside.

Avoid a spike in pidgeon population! Buy a tank!

    Hi Shibby,

I'm looking for a "small" setup to play with before starting up my 2m tank again (been out of the hobby for about 10 years now). Where in PTA are you? I would have PM'd you but I dont have enough post count for that :)

@ishtak I am currently in Rietondale (just outside Hatfield). I'm moving to Waverley which is just 6km north from my current home ;-)

This is what the sump looked like when I got the tank home :(

Now to hunt someone that can replace the bottom glass, or explain to me how to do it :)

Aah sorry to hear man, that looks like it happened under the DSB? Weird... Hope you get it sorted soon!

Ah, thank you kindly! Rest assured, I will still remain very active on the forum, but just with my new octagonal nano tank... and tire track eel...

Was right under the DSB :(

I'm wondering if it's safe/advisable to just stick another piece of glass under the cracked one and seal it all in place??

Seeing as the sump rests on a solid brace and does not have an exceptional volume / mass, nor any substrate, I'm sure you can get away with that...

I dropped the tank off at Boksburg Flea Market yesterday. R250 to replace the glass :)
