I dnt have prime . I got stability and a dechlorinator. It's in the water from the fish tank currently. I got a air pump and airstone which I can put in.

Nevermind, i see your pump is running and agitating the waters surface, thats what you want. As long as your water temp stays consistent, and you let the pump agitate the waters surface for oxygen exchange, they should be ok in there until tomorrow. Ive done the same thing in the past with no casualties.

Dont feed as long as they are in the bucket, it will just contribute more waste in an already confined space.

Cool. I've been monitoring the fish for about 39 mins now. They moving and behaviour is fine. Just lack.of space.

Going to get a new sheet of polystyrene tmrw nirnmor. Will be there as the shop open . Really miss judge my time....learner a lesson now.

Should I add the airstone for peace of mind .or I got enough agitation

You can add the air stone if you want, as long as the water surface is being agitated, you're good to go.

    @BradK ,

In Jhb, the LFS's, Westpack plastics, sell polystyrene
You might even get it at Builders

Not sure what size tank it is but 10/12mm should be ok
If the level is still slightly out after the polystyrene you can use thin metal washers under the necessary side of the tank to fine tune it

Add the airstone for peace of mind
What you can do in the morning is a small water change take out some of the water in the bucket and gently add clean water at the right temperature with dechlorinator.
When my one tank burst we h ad ours in buckets and containers from 5pm to over lunch time the next day while we went to buy a tank and set it up and they were fine.
As said, dont feed at all.

Just be positive @BradK , Im sure all will be fine

Dont go into flat panic mode as that sometimes leads us to make silly mistakes... keep your cool and you will pull this through.
I know its not easy because I have been there and literally had to revive fish when i got home from work to a three quarter empty tank

Hang in there and good luck

    Hi Guys

Was busy the whole day. Finally the tank is up to a respectable wotkwor condition. I promise I'll post pics sooonnn. I'm just to tired to take pics lol. But of more than I could chew. Learnt alot though.

The PFS is not my favourite buy very cost effective so will have do for now. I was thinking of adding something to it to make it look like a river bed. What can I add. It looks too perfect now.

The granules are small,,, I saw my sail fin molly eat some ... Is it fine for the fish. Lol.

Thanks guys for yesterday. The fish was in the bucket for almost a day. They are doing fine. Fed them and they are like piranhas. Later.

    Fantastic!!!

Well done... I am glad all went well.

The PFS will not harm the fish
What I have done to break the perfect look, I bought a small bag of mixed size gravel with small little stones mixed in, in earthy natural colours and I sprinkled that over the PFS
In time, it will most likely get all mixed up but looks very nice and a very natural look
