Im a bit worried that adjustable feet lose their strength and i have visions of one of the feet suddenly giving way.. maybe im crazy

Yes, a floating base is great
Read through your specs again and i think it sounds good
Only thing i would change is width to 60
50 is a bit narrow and once you start adding wood and rocks or plants, you will be grateful for that little bit extra

I agree on the width. But space is a big issue. I'm squeezing this into my dining area. So need it exact as possible. Or I would just build a standard 5 foot. Or maybe my dream 3m planted tank :). But right now it's all I can accommodate. Also I'm into smaller fish. Tetra, barbs, pleco some live bearers etc. So I dnt think I'll have a problem in the near future.

But things change ....I'll know soon.

Guys I've seen that some guys plumb the return, ie a second hole drill in the overflow for the return.

Is this safe practice. The tank builder had some examples of that in his personal tank. I like it cause all the plumbing is on one side. What's the pros and cons of this.

Hello....I'm going for a short 3 day stay tmrw.
    Il feed tmrw evening last.

My next feed will be on Wednesday around 8am. I assume my fish will be fine.

Also should I leave the light on?. The room the tank is gets dark without the tank light. The tank is almost black with no light.

    Thanks

Very safe and neat indeed but jist make sure there is enough space to work of you need to there is always an chance for som to get stuck and you need to get your hands in that space.

He emphasized the space is enough for ur hand to go in. I didn't ask about the return from the overflow box. Will ask again. Thanks.

    Hi Fish people

I just did a little sketch, to get an idea of the scale. Only the dimensions are accurate, never draw in the braces/ cupboards etc.
I just want to talk about the plumbing. I want to send the return up from the overflow box, from a second hole in the overflow. And i want the return be from the the side of the overflow. Is this ok, with the overflow opening being so close to the return.

The bottom tank is a 3 foot. I told the wife my plans, she says im obsessed. I call it passion :). But she did not say no.....mmmm.....yet. Still dont know what that means but going to see the tank builder on Friday. Also what pump is recommended for this setup.
