Simple and effective only thing i would add is a open and close tap, so i can stop the water at the tank instead of running for the tap :)

    +1 Donny

Suppose it all depends on where your tap is in relation to your tank.

Yeah that is all good and well until you forget to actually close the tap. Cool idea Zoom, I however have a tap in my fishroom so I just use a hose pipe, great idea though

Trust me... when you have to cart buckets and buckets to your toilet, and then refill the same number of buckets and cart them back to the tank, because you stay in a flat with no garden (i.e third floor), the idea of draining this way, and filling like this will be an absolute PLEASURE. I will have absolutely NO problem sitting and watching the tank fill for 10 minutes, and ensure I don't over fill!!!

(Isn't it amazing that you can take 10 buckets of water out of your tank, but it ALWAYS FEELS LIKE you put about 30 more buckets back into the tank!!)

Ah, that's a very handy invention. My only issue is that I would still like to vacuum the substrate, so I'll just add a selector before the inlet/outlet where I can connect my vacuum and then just switch to the regular syphon once I'm done.

    Good on you!
