Wow... that is strange. Looking at it, you would think a heavy downpour would be on its way But then, such is nature... full of surprises..
Funny how humans love pictures of water .... nice pics. Yeah France had a heat wave 45++ crazy weather you guys are having in europe. Later Ferdie
Cause we all NEED water hahaha. It is hard to get pics without here. The farmhouse is the one my mother was born in. In the second world war three allied aircrafts were shot down and crashed within 3 k from there. There is a monument behind the place. @MariaS : This is what the tulips now look like. They are havested. No Cory no glory
Stunning pictures @DoubleDutch !!! To think that just the other day those fields were covered in flowers... What happens to those field now, do they stay like that until they plant the bulbs for the next season or do they plants something else in the meantime?
We had a mini heatwave on the weekend. Went up to 33°C on the weekend. But the forecast is for low 20's this week.
I noticed that social media is full of pictures and cartoons of "Europe on Fire." When you are used to highs in the low 20's, anything reaching the 30°C mark should feel like a heatwave. On the farm we would give the labourers a "siesta" if the temperatures hit 45°C. We would joke that all that separates us from Hell was a barbed wire fence, and the fence melted away a long time ago.
Those will be mainly grassland Maria. To prevent diseases they often will grow something other than tulips the next year (same with potatoes). The next year remaining tulips will occure in the grass. When my kids were little we used to pick those. As adult they still remember hahaha. Europe on fire ??????? A tiny bit of exaggeration of the media hahahaha ? Climate change might make us the new South Africa within years. The Kingdom of North Africa ???????? No Cory no glory
Aad, you're making us jealous, been more than 2 months since we had some rain here, you only see dust when I play fetch with my doggies xD
Hahahahaha. Second pic is the second lowest place in Holland. About 6,5 meter below sealevel. No Cory no glory
I take it there is already contingency plans on the table for the coming rise in sea level due to climate change?
