What Apistogramma species are you keeping??

I have a breeding trio of Apistogramma cacatuoides at the moment and am getting some Dutch golds from @Altum in a few days.

 

@Nadeem . . Bro . .It's just a breed I am familiar with. along with the another breed I recently came across, the "Dutch red"

I currently have a pair Agassizii Tefe blue, a Pair Dwarf Red Agassizii and Four Steel Blue Apistogramma which are currently breeding. I am looking for some new species. Can anyone help ?

 

I got a pair of Blue Steel from @Erwee this past weekend. Currently in a community and looking awesome. The female has gone a nice yellow colour already

 

Nice one. the steel blues are very pretty. Mine are housed in their own tank. 1 female has fry, whilst one other i think currently has eggs

 

Hey bud,

Just be careful with the Steel Blues in your community... They are known for their aggression, and may well start rampantly attacking the other inhabitants. Usually they tend to attack their own kind (the females are particularly known for this), but just be aware. A little harassment of the other occupants is alright, but if it gets too bad, then you may need to give them their own tank?

For the best part, they should be ok, but again, be aware, and keep an eye on them.

Thanks for the advice, have read about that and I am keeping an eye on them. They were a surprise gift so I wasnt really prepared for them tbh. Ultimately I want them in a tank of their own to try my luck at breeding them.

Dwarf cockatoo breeding pairs.

 

I only have two small Juvenile Macmasteri at the moment. Haven't had any Apisto's for a couple of years, but the young Macmasteri have got me interested again. I had planned to take a trip to one of the UK's best Hobbyist Dwarf breeders this next week, to pick up some Wild Imported Rams and a couple of Cac's that he reguarly breeds. Had to postpone this, as my Father died unexpectedly last weekend. Once things get back to normal, I look forward to adding a couple of Cac's to my softwater tank. Have seen several pictures of Big G's Apistos, both past and present and they are some of the most stunning looking Trop's around.
