My tree ferns love aquarium water and so does the rest of the garden.

Also syphon directly in to the garden(no buckets) but my water change is about 200 plus litres and sometimes up to 600L so i must move the pipe around otherwise i make a dam outside.

Anyone else out there have air plants the best thing you can do for them is to soak them in aquarium water for an hour once a week. They thrive on it.

Butcherman I just wanna say I think this a very good thread you started. Living in the Garden Route which suffers with water problems now and then, people have to become more aware water and its usage.

Lots of water, about 50% shade and plant food works wonders on tree ferns.

Planted in morning sun, evening shade... Soil very wet due to clay content in soil.
