    Hi
I have 2 white clouds. One is very fat and I think it is full of eggs.
The other one is a bit thinner and I think it is the male.
    How do I breed them?

Very easy now that you can assume you have a male and a female. Provide them with something to spawn over (some fine-leaved plants, netting, marbles etc) so that the parents cannot access the eggs onces they have spawned (the parents will eat any eggs or fry that they find). The pair will spawn over the spawning material that I mentioned earlier, the male and female releasing sperm and eggs at the same time. Remove the parents or eggs (whichever is easier) after they're finished.

If memory serves me right, it takes more than a day for the eggs to hatch. Feed them very fine foods. Newly hatched brine shrimp or infusoria is ideal, because it will get them growing fast. However, you can use powdered fry food as well, and it is much easier to do so, but you won't get good growth rates.

    Hi

    Thanks for the advice.
I don`t have brine shrimp, but I do have dry baby fish food for egg layers and microworms.
Could I use any of them?

Both of those should be suitable. I haven't seen a baby white cloud in a very long time, but so long as they're able to fit the food into their mouths, they'll take it :) Good luck

you could try starting a greenwater tank outside..

its what i use to raise guppy fry... just add an airline with a sponge filter and lots of hornwort and / or java moss, they feed off the algae, you dont even feed the adults. and my guppies grow at a massive rate.

parents dropped fry on friday and the little ones are already 10mm long. my greenwater tank has guppies and white clouds.

white cloud mountain minnows have very very tiny mouths so the floating algae is perfect for them.

remember that greenwater tanks go through phases, for a few weeks it will be dark green and then it will clear completely for a few weeks and then back to greenwater again..

Thanks for the info. Our outside temps rise to over 40 degrees so is it possible to do that outside? Even in the house it is a constant battle to keep the tanks below 30 degrees and at level.

I would like to know more about the green tank:

Must the tank be in the shade? I haven't got shade next to my house. Everything more than 10 m away is in the wild.
Where do one get java moss ?

If this could work my baby guppies will be very happy, they have been in a breeding tank for 3 weeks now.

I'd be cautious about trying to raise White Clouds outside in such heat. These fish much prefer cooler water, and while they're very hardy and will tolerate heat, I don't think they'll do well over an extended period.

Any other true tropical fish would love it, though. Guppies included.
